OPENAIR Kick Off Meeting, Paris 21st - 23rd April 2009
INASCO is proud to be a partner in the OPENAIR research project being led by SNECMA (SAFRAN Group) that just started on April 1st, 2009. The kick - off meeting took place in Paris during April 21st - 23rd.
OPENAIR, an acronym for “OPtimisation for low Environmental Noise impact AIRcraft”, is supported by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme for Research and Development. OPENAIR is a four-year program with a total budget of €30 million. By adopting an integrated aircraft approach based on the latest developments in active and adaptive technologies, flow control techniques and advances in computational aero-acoustics applied in all areas OPENAIR plans to deliver the breakthrough that is needed to achieve the 2020 ACARE goals. Within OPENAIR, INASCO will design and manufacture a series of composite active stators (OGVs), a Variable Area Fan Nozzle and two active / adaptive concepts for core nozzles.
